Stop Those Leaks

My carpet hopes that this last weekend's work on me was totally successful. I've been leaking through my rear window seal ever since Ariel and her dad installed it. They have tried multiple applications of silicone sealant, but to no avail. This weekend Tom got serious. Armed with a razor blade, he removed all the old silicone and spread beads of butyl rubber window sealant over all the joints. We have to wait until the next rain before we know if he fixed that problem.

Freshly Shod

A month or so ago, Ariel's dad bought me four new tires. Since the closest size to original, 185-80R13, is getting harder and harder to find, he had to buy them loose from a speedshop. Last weekend he finally got around to getting them mounted on rims and balanced. After some fresh paint on the rusty surfaces, he installed them last night. The whitewalls are facing out and I look sharper than ever.

Warm and Almost Toasty

Night before last, Ariel's dad rolled me up on to the ramps and grounded my heater blower. To do this he drilled a hole through the flange and the heater box wall and inserted a small sheetmetal screw. To add to the margin, he also ran a wire from the new screw to a bottom pan screw. The blower blows awesomely.

While he was under, he noticed a lot of oil around the oil pan bolts. He found that most of them were loose, so he tightened them all. Maybe this will slow down my oil consumption problem.

Yesterday he drove me to his work and back and I gave him plenty of warm air to defrost the windshield and take the chill off the air.
